For over 38 years Gary and his wife, Becky, have loved serving the Lord in Christian adventure ministries in Missouri, Arkansas, California, Wisconsin, and North Carolina. Serving as director in two programs and now working part-time at DM, he still maintains that God's creation is an awesome way to experience the reality of Christ and His kingdom in one's life. Discovering this reality and helping others to find it, too, have been his personal and professional life's quest. Family, church, gardening, travel and reading continue to bring joy to his life.
Becky is a member of the original team who developed Discovery Ministries. Over the years, she has filled in wherever needed—instructor, driver, bookkeeper, cook, cleaner, belay slave—but she doesn’t do the pool! As the staff has grown, she has focused her energy on keeping the financial records accurate and up to date, editing publications and overseeing the kitchen use. As the ministry has evolved, she and her husband Gary (Founder of Discovery Ministries), have simply watched for the next door God would open, being ready to walk through it, and accounts of His guidance and provision abound. So far, He hasn’t opened the exit door, so she’s still here.
Emma is a graduate of Ozark Christian College with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry. Emma joins us alongside her husband Robert, who serves as the Office Manager. Emma has a deep passion and interest in working with people who are hurting and bringing them hope and healing. She performs various functions including newsletter editor, design editor, and canteen manager.
FOOD SERVICE COORDINATOR
Having grown up at Discovery Ministries, Julie has played many roles at the camp over the years. She is the wife of the Director and the mother of 4 wonderful children! She spends much of her time overseeing River of Life Christian School in their home and helping to serve others in the community of Eminence. We are thankful to have her filling in for us in food service currently.
We are grateful Amber has joined our staff as the cook. Her culinary prowess make her an asset. Amber owns and operates a coffee shop and bakery in Eminence called Taste the Occasion.
