HOMESCHOOL ENDEAVOR WILDERNESS  I, II, III

God trained His leaders in the wilderness. Using His creation and teaching adventure skills, the DM staff will encourage you to step up and do hard things, to step out and risk being uncomfortable, to step down to put God and others first.  Using a map and compass, you will find your way through the forest or down the river. Through canoeing, backpacking, and rock climbing, you will find new strength to persevere.  By memorizing Scripture and discussing Biblical concepts you will purposefully examine and reflect on God's character and His presence in your life.

Many people train hard and study diligently to succeed in a world that values power, money and physical beauty. They spend unbelievable time and money to receive trophies or certificates, which have no eternal worth. Wouldn't you rather achieve success in ways that will change your heart and your life eternally?

HOMESCHOOL ENDEAVOR ADVENTURE

AUG 8-12, 2021

Some of the most intimate discoveries of the character of God happen in the wilderness. When we remove distractions and step away from the noise, we can fruitfully practice the disciplines of listening and longing. When we take the risk of letting go, we reap the great reward of adventure.

All of creation testifies of its Creator! In the quiet of a cave, at the heights of a rock cliff, winding down a river or in exuberant worship around a campfire, your time in God's creation will re-introduce you to the Creator, YOUR Creator, in a way that will fashion your faith for years.

Will you choose adventure?

BLAST! HIKE-A-THON

NOVEMBER 6-7, 2020
BLAST! takes the common and makes it extraordinary. A dollar becomes an offering, a trail becomes a journey and a person becomes a friend. Donors and hikers of all ages and walks of life team up every November to start what they think is a hike-a-thon. What they find along the way is camaraderie, forged through 24-hours of hiking, fun, and endurance. Join BLAST! and help a camp you love.  Send that love now with a general donation, or sponsor a hiker per mile.

BLAST! is a 24-hour hikeathon (hiking endurance event) fundraiser. The objective is to fundraise for a camp that you love, while also experiencing the fellowship, challenge and rest that have always surrounded the hikeathon. Discovery Ministries has held BLAST! annually since 2010.

Discovery Ministries welcomes hikers of all fitness levels to participate. Here are the three formats that you can sign up as:
  • The four-man 100-mile relay: Put together a team of four people to hike 25 miles apiece. Only one runner at a time, this allows for something of a competitive element, while still allowing for plenty of fellowship and comradery.
  • Team: As a team how much will you hike? Challenge yourself to meet that goal, and raise the funds for the team together. This is a great fit if you want to get together a group of friends or bring your family. It allows for comradery both before the event and during.
  • The Individual Hiker: This is what it sounds like. Set a distance goal and raise a specific amount that people will support you at per mile. Challenge yourself to hike that distance.

Ready to register? Click out of this explanation to find the "Register to Hike" button below the event details on this page. See you on the trail!
